Welcome to bollards of London (incorporating bollards of Britain), a site dedicated to those rather odd looking pavement objects you find in the most interesting of places. Bollards have a history richer than most objects placed upon the pavement and we can easily find some from the earlier part of the 19th Century. Welcome once again to bollards of London and please do follow/contact me on the twitter @BollardsEngland or via gmail john.bollards@gmail.com #thankyou...

Abbeyville Road SW4...
Here we are on Abbeyville Road, Clapham SW4 with what can only be described as a bollard now but at some point in the past this object looks like it was a hydrant of some sort. How do we know it was a water hydrant, well if we look we see threaded parts which would be used to connect pipes, hoses to.
With its dark green body and cylindrical shape and obvious engineered parts it is a rather odd but interesting looking lonely bollard. If anyone does know any different please do get in touch via my email address john.bollards@gmail.com or via the comments section of this blog.
Have a great bank holiday weekend and welcome once again to Bollards of London...
